SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK – member of the America's Second Harvest Network, the largest Hunger Relief organization in the world, feeding over 31 million hungry families each year.

MISSION: to feed hungry people by soliciting and distributing food and grocery products through a nationwide network of certified affiliate food banks and to educate the public about the nature of and solutions to the problem of hunger in America.

SPECIAL VOLUNTEER NEEDS:

• Community Soup Kitchen:
  Community Soup Kitchen, 601 N. Lee St. Volunteers plan, prepare, and serve lunch to over 300 of Valdosta's needy residents.

• Reclamation Area:
  Reclamation area, utilizes most of our volunteers. Hours: 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Some of the tasks include: inspecting, re-packing, and sorting food drive items.

• Other opportunities:
  Volunteers are welcome at special events, the Kids' Café, and in the office.
