Boy Scouts
BOY SCOUTS—Almost six years ago, Ralph Jackson, along with John Hummel and Richard Coleman, created the Christ Church Boy Scout troupe. The members of the troupe, who meet once a week, work on a variety of projects related to outreach. The Scouts organize fund-raisers to support their participation in the Jamboree and serve as acolytes every fifth Sunday. The culmination of their membership, the Eagle Scout project, is an individual project developed to benefit a non-profit organization. Membership is nondenominational and open to all boys who are eleven or older.
MISSION—Membership in the Christ Church Boy Scout troupe normally entails a five to six year commitment that develops character, self-sufficiency, mentoring and leadership skills, and community and church involvement.
NEEDS—New volunteers and members are invited, and storage space is needed. Support from the church community is always welcome.
